§ [DnD][4e] 2011年05月05日『セクハラには力押しで』
エスペランザ(エラドリンのメイジ8):力術をよくする秘術使いのエラドリン。割とトリガーハッピー。
グスタフ・トラップ(ヒューマンのシーフ8):幼いころから黒竜に盗賊としての訓練を受け、そろそろ独り立ちするように言いつけられて旅立った青年。
セヴン(ドワーフのウォーロード8):斧を偏愛するドワーフ。兜の飾りに取り外し可能な仕込み斧をつけている。
イド(ハーフエルフのパラディン8):遍歴の騎士。たぶん三人につけられたブレーキ兼companion。主人公。
カーレリアの危機から九日後。パーティは最近街から馬で三日ほど行った場所にたむろしている巨人たちの調査を依頼された。それというのも、そこは“風の王”と呼ばれていた邪神の空中神殿から落下した塔が埋まっているとされる場所だからだ。“風の王”について調査していた老ウィザード、ベリオスが予定を過ぎても帰っていないので、彼の調査もあわせて依頼された。
というわけで四人と数匹の獣が現場に向かうと、遺跡が埋まっているはずの丘がなくなって周囲に泥がうず高く積み上げられ、“風の王”の遺跡がむき出しになっていた。そして土がむき出しになっている広場では双頭の巨人、エティンが何人か休んでいる。
パーティがそちらへ向かうとエティンが何か話しかけてきた。しかし、巨人語を理解できるのがひとりもいなかったため、しばらく噛み合わないやり取りが続いた後に戦いが始まった。
戦闘では巨人の豪腕で全員が押し込まれてあわやというところになったが、なんとか回復量がまさりパーティは勝利した。
一休みして遺跡の中を覗くと、縛り上げられたベリオスが床に転がされていた。彼を解放して話を聞くと、遺跡の調査をしている最中にエティンを従えたミノタウロスたちが踏み込んできて捕らえられたという。しかし、仲間がいるならウィザードとしてもそれなりの力があるので役に立つだろうと、ベリオスは復讐戦も兼ねて一行に同行することとなった。
途中の二階層は書庫や研究室のような施設が並んでいたが、ミノタウロスたちが衛視として配置したエレメンタルたちが襲ってくるため調査や物欲どころではない。パーティは階段の近辺で密集陣形を組み、後続が出なくなるまで撃ち続けては次の階層へ向かって突破した。
後顧の憂いをすり潰して屋上に出ると、そこにはデーモンのネルドラズゥと“風の王”の信徒であるミノタウロスたちが儀式を行なっていた。“風の王”のデーモンたちはかつての大戦でポータルを破壊され、元の次元界へ帰還する手段を失っている。故郷への帰還という数百年の妄執に取り憑かれた彼らは、儀式を破壊されまいと襲い掛かってきた。
パーティはネルドラズゥがセヴンを連れて瞬間移動を繰り返すので回復面で若干苦戦したが、先にイドが壁になって敵の数を減らしていたのがうまくいってデーモンとその信徒たちを地獄へ送り返し、カーレリアへと帰還するのだった。
