この数週間、私はD&D Nextの基本と標準ルールの目標、そしてふたつの鍵となるゲームの目標の概要について語ってきた。今週は上級ルールについて話す時間だ。
その概念
上級ルールで私たちは、プレイヤーとDMにRPGの経験があり、彼らが何をしているか理解しており、異なる何かを求めていると仮定している。ゲームのこの部分は私たちがシステムの制御を放り投げてDMをおかしくさせるところだ。君はこれを第3版の『Unearthed Arcana』のようだが、最初からゲーム・デザインがコア・ルールのハッキングを考慮した(あるいは奨励さえする)ものだと解釈できる。
上級ルールは以下の3つの基礎分野に分類される。

では、私たちはどんなルールを構築しているのだろうか？一覧はやや流動的だが、私たちが焦点を当てたいものはここにある。これは長々としたリストで、すべてがすぐさま作業可能である確証もないため、より欲しいものリストに近いものだ。

- 素材探しと秘薬から魔法のアイテムを作成するルールをデザインする。
- クリティカル・ヒットおよび致命的失敗の表の提供。
- 命中部位のルールとともに、鎧でダメージ軽減をするルールをデザインする。
- 健康や衛生を細かく管理する、継続的負傷のルールを含める。代替的魔法システムを含める。
- D&Dのジャンルを変える他のルールとともに、ホラーと正気度のルールを提供する。
