奨学金(訳註:米国の奨学金は地元からの寄付によるものも多い)、学割、学校の活動とゲーム・クラブへの支援や、図書館と連携して図書館の活動に適したD&Dのゲームを開催するなど、学校や図書館で新規顧客を開拓することも考慮し推奨されていた。
以下のような販促も同じく推薦されている。新規プレイヤーのためにD&D Encountersの事前にセッションを行なう、新規プレイヤー向けにD&Dのゲームを行なう、“友達紹介”で現在の顧客が新規プレイヤーを誘ってきたことに対してお礼をする、顧客向けパーティを主催する(私たちはハロウィンや店の記念日にこれを行なう)、あるいはバスやヴァンをゲームのイベントへ出す(Gnome Gamesは毎回Gen Conに出している)。
最後に我々はウィザーズ・プレイ・ネットワークやD&D Insider、Facebook、Twitter、FourSquareなど、多くの人がソーシャルメディアと考えるものにたどり着く。あなたの顧客がよく使うソーシャルメディアのサイトにあなたの店を登録する(知らない？ 彼らに訊ねましょう)。Facebookなら1日に4、5回、Twitterなら20回程度はあなたのサイトを更新すると良いが、イベントや広告を載せてはいけない。ニュース、あなたの顧客が面白がりそうなビデオやサイトへのリンクを出すこと。店にQRコードを貼ったり、あなたの名詞やその他の広告あなたの顧客に書くなどして、あなたがソーシャルメディアに存在すると認知させること。
私が最初に書いたように、あなたの店でダンジョンズ&ドラゴンズを強く推していきたいなら、この文章は広報を促進するためのうまい文章で、WotCがあなたに送ってきたなら10分ほど読む価値はある。

コミュニティのプロデュースも含めたものがビジネスであるという考えは4eが発売された頃から再三語られていたけれど、D&D Encountersなどで試行錯誤を重ねてショップに少しでも還元するような構造を作ろうとしていることが窺われるですぅ。
日本でも『ブシロード発表会報告前編・「カードゲームはインフラビジネス」 - カードキングダム・いけっち店長ブログ』というようなことになっているあたりに、細かいところは違えどプレイ環境を含めたビジネスを模索する相似した動きを感じたですぅ。
